Terms and Conditions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “Historic England” as the owner of Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings (“the Site”) means The Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England, a non-departmental public body whose head office is at 4th Floor, Cannon Bridge House, 25 Dowgate Hill, London, EC4R 2YA.

  1. All bricks remain the property of Historic England.
  2. Inscriptions should be names of individuals or organisations only. Historic England reserves the right to approve all lettering and to refuse any application considered unsuitable. In such cases Historic England has no obligation to cite a reason and a full refund will be offered.
  3. Engraving of the bricks will be done by a specialist engraver.
  4. The bricks depicted on our site and in literature are representations of the bricks and actual bricks may differ. Every effort will be made to use the same bricks as those used on the terrace, a blue clay paver. Historic England does not accept responsibility for slight variances in colour and/or style.
  5. Historic England will have complete control over the location and installation date of the bricks.
  6. Historic England guarantees to maintain and display the brick for a minimum of ten years.
  7. The bricks may become worn or damaged over time owing to natural causes. No liability can be accepted for this by Historic England.
  8. Historic England reserves the right to change or amend these Terms and Conditions. Any changes will be posted to this form.
    By naming a brick, you are agreeing that any personal information provided may be held and used by Historic England or its agents and suppliers to administer the donation.  All personal data provided to Historic England will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including: (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation; (ii) the UK GDPR; and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended. We will keep your personal data safe and secure. We will not share it with other organisations without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. We will keep your personal data only for the purposes of communicating with you regarding this donation. You shall have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.  The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.   9. These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  10. None of these Terms and Conditions shall be enforceable under the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by a party other than you or Historic England.
